Take out fish and chips. Ate in the car for maximum crispness of the fish. Excellent breading to fish ratio, light and does not leave me feeling greasy after mowing down deep fried food. Three piece fish and chip meal was enough for my wife and I. Kids loved the chicken strips and poutine.

The food was awesome. They forgot the gravy we paid for, I was looking for it in the bag, but it was not there. We stopped on the way to the provincial park. It was well worth the wait. Yes, prepare for a long wait, we were there at about 135pm and waited about 1 hour to get the food. Excellent staff and service. We chatted with other people waiting around, so it's not that bad a wait. Picnic tables are available if needed. Parking is super tight, but you will find it. If hauling a trailer, just park on the road.

Mrs. H did a bang up job of making fish and chips for our crew. Crispy crispy but not too greasy, my belly was satisfied. The full 3-piece meal is a meal for champions, myself as a strapping young lad could barely finish it. Don’t miss coming here, but I may avoid coming right before closing to make sure the staff gets home on time

My husband and I went and had the halibut and chips dinner. (3pcs fish). Very tasty and cooked almost to perfection. Customer service here was awesome and though there is no indoor seating, the outdoor seating is sufficient. The people you meet here are friendly and I’m so glad lad that they have a chef that knows what they are doing!! Was here a couple years ago and wasn’t no where near as good as what it was today.

Fought the bloody cottage country traffic just to try this place. Because a girl needs her fish and chips There was plenty of parking but packed today, so we parked across the street. Line up and wait was 45 mins for my halibut.. That's how busy they are! It was delicious, only the complaint was that the batter was thick! Super thick. The batter was flavourful as well. Everything was nice, not greasy at all. The lady eating next to us reassured us that the batter wasn't always like this, and maybe they were so busy today ... I'd definitely come up to try it again one day.. Very friendly staff here Seatings are outside

Mrs H's Fish & Chips, now that's SPECIAL!!! Open 364 days a year (closed Christmas Day) located just off 400 highway, at 2195 Muskoka District Road 38, Bala, ON. Trust me, the batter issues mentioned in recent reviews have been resolved. There was an issue in that the normal batter used from Quaker, was unavailable for an extended period this summer (the 2nd year in a row, despite assurances to contrary). Plans are to order extra inventory, just in case. The haddock meals we ordered were magnificent (shrimp only good too! - we shared) and LEFTOVERS rule. Portions are huge, great value. Mrs H's will be a must do whenever nearby, worth the drive.

We stopped here on a September Friday at about 11:30 which is the perfect time. By 12:00 it was lined up. I’m very picky about Fish and Chips and these were some of the best I’ve ever had! Big chunk of halibut super fresh and hot, batter to fish ratio is perfect. They give you a package of condiments and the only slight suggestion would be they are a bit stingy on the tartar sauce. Great value, each of us got a 1 piece dinner and we split a pop for 27 which was a perfect lunch portion. Service was friendly and they have a good system. Only about 8 picnic tables, I imagine they could use more outdoor seating when it’s busy as there is no indoor seating. Worth the drive to the Wahta territory!

We both ordered half fish and chips which comes with 2 fishes we had haddock and fries and coleslaw. Fish was amazing not a heavy batter, but portion wise one order would feed two people portion is big. Would definitely highly recommend Mrs, H
